What you can buy for $1 or less

I decided to check out the local farmer's market yesterday and I must say the first 2 I went to were a bit crazy when it came to pricing. I decided then to visit an oldie, but a goodie in Houston, Canino Produce on Airline.

Here's what I found that you can get for $1 or less:
  • 7 green apples - $1.00
  • 2 cucumbers - $1.00
  • Bag of Homegrown Carrots - $.49
  • Green beans (.79/lb) - $1.00
  • 10 limes - $1.00
  • 3 lg. russet potatoes - $1.00
  • 1 lg. red onion (.98 lb.) - $.96
  • 2 bunches of cilantro - $1.00
  • Homegrown spinach - $.79
  • Mango - $.69
  • Bag of carrots - $.98

  • 2 bunches of green onions - $1.00
  • Avocado - $.98
  • Ear of corn - $.69/each
  • 3 onions - $1.00
  • Red Onion - $.96

On the way home I realized that my son needed a Powerade drink for his baseball practice/lesson so I made a quick stop at Krogers. I also wanted to get more FREE whisker lickin cat treats since our cat went crazy over them (freakishly crazy over them)! and I knew the Mega Deal was ending soon.

Total Cost of 5 minute Kroger quick trip below...................................$.90

4 Powerade Zeros - $1.69 on sale for $.99
-$2.00 [(4) .50 Mega Deals]
-$2.00 [(4) .50 MQ Peelies]
-$1.50 [(3) .50 Kroger Bonus Double]
Final Cost = -1.54

5 Whisker Lickins - $1.29 on sale for $.99
-$2.50 [(5) .50 Mega Deals]
-$3.00 [(3) $1/2 MQ]
Final Cost =
-.55

Ken's Dressing - $3.39 on sale for $1.99
-.50 Mega Deal
-$1.00 MQ
Final Cost =
$.49

Nestle Strawberry Milk - $1.39

There was a mess up at the register with the whisker snacks and so she asked me to get another powerade instead when I informed that the Qs would not be correct she said to not worry about it since their computer was not reading correctly. She also deducted $1 from the total.
