Walgreens 5-8 Trip

Spent $2.13 on GC, Earned $15 RR!
Profit $12.87
Saved $249.87

Okay okay, let's be honest again, $179.97 is from the diabetes meters, but they were FREE and I earned $15 in Register Rewards by purchasing them (all of which are being donated to a diabetes clinic in Houston which I will post next week). So excluding diabetes meters, spent $2.13 on gift card and saved $69.90 while earning $15 in Register Rewards.

I took my son to a birthday party after school at Laser Quest which is about 20 minutes away from our house. I had an hour and 1/2 to blow so I thought let's see what's going on at the Walgreens and Fiesta down the street. Most Walgreens are sold out of the Bayer Glucose Meters, but I thought no big deal I'll just snag some more Gillette shampoo because a reader of mine, Welchmomx5 told me that she found a $1.25/1 Gillette coupon when she was at Fiesta. I asked the cashier about them and she handed me 5!! Thanks Welchmomx5! In addition, Fiesta has TONS of coupons right now that they give you when you walk in. I kept those and headed over to Walgreens.

No Bayer Glucose Meters on the shelves and then I looked over on the top shelf behind the pharmacy counter and there they were. So here is how it went down......

Transaction 1
Breeze2 Glucose Meter - Reg. $59.99 orange tag sale - $14.99, plus earn a $5RR
-$30 MQ from the 3/22 SS or 10/26 RP (adjusted down to $14.99)
Final cost = FREE + a $5 profit!!
** Even if you don't have a coupon there is a up to $45 rebate form located inside the box! so it will still end up being FREE plus a $5 RR)

  1. Thanks for the heads up! Went over to Fiesta (who had stacks of these coupons!) then to Walgreens. First was a bust, but the 2nd had TONS. They didn't have the orange tag, but I had the cashier price check before I made my purchase. Got 8 using 6 $1.25MQ and 2 BOGO, Paid $2.21

  2. So I guess it is safe to say that Walgreen's takes competitor's coupons. I am always not sure about who does and who does not. Thanks!
